La Lunita

La Lunita appeared on the Art on the Trail in 2018 in Lodi, Wisconsin. She was a little moon made of papier mâché, and she appeared on the Gibralter Rock segment of the Ice Age Trail. (Her sister moon, La Lunita II, appeared on the 2019 trail.)

We see the moon always from afar, nestled among the skies, high above us. La Lunita was close, tucked in sumac branches. She was an opportunity to see the moon from new angles. Made of paper, she was meant to wane (deconstruct) in her natural elements. (Which, she successfully did, thanks to Mother Nature!)
